200 bags of candy, 6 people, and 5 days of setup, all for just one evening? That sounds like Halloween at the old school in Quohren. And that’s exactly what it was. Many hard-working helpers supported me this year with the preparations and setup. The Quohrener Leben e.V. association once again provided food and drink, offering bratwurst, French fries, pumpkin soup, and drinks.
But Halloween 2024 was supposed to be a little different than previous years. The Pirna Haunted House was on board this year. While the scarers from the Pirna Haunted House provided a great atmosphere for visitors in Halloween 2023, this year there was a tour of the garden.

Visitors start the tour as usual at the entrance to the courtyard. Along the zombie pit, they head straight into the spider corridor. This year, a zombie lady in the horror chamber provided a few scares. The tour continued past the garage, where a witch sang, and skeletons danced past the spooky toilet. This provided lots of fun, especially for the children. When do you ever see a skeleton sitting on a garden toilet?
In the horror tent, things quieted down a bit. Here, visitors could look for a new hand in the secondhand shop before entering the classroom of the horror school. After all, even skeletons have to learn something, and there was no shortage of teachers here.
The tour continued from the tent, and the attentive visitor then spotted the new addition to the tour. This was the way to the review of the Pirna Haunted House. Dim lighting, gravestones, and a spooky BBQ welcomed visitors. But those who simply wanted to stroll through the garden hadn’t expected the scarers. They provided plenty of spookiness, which was certainly audible outside of the horror school. They were particularly popular with the older children, but the adult visitors also got their fun and scare.

Once you’d completed the tour of the garden, you could refuel at the Quohrener Leben e.V. stalls and let the evening end peacefully. All in all, the haunting lasted from 5:00 PM to about 8:00 PM, but there were also a few visitors who stopped by until 10:00 PM.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the helpers again for their support. My thanks also go to the people at the Pirna Haunted House, who also enjoy spooking as a hobby in their free time. But after Halloween comes before Halloween, as we all know, and so the first ideas and plans for Halloween 2025, when the Horror School opens its doors again, are already in the works.
