Halloween at the Haunted School in Quohren – A Festival of Frights and Wonders
On the evening of October 31st, the usually peaceful school in Quohren transformed into a veritable spooky paradise. Even from afar, thick fog, mysterious lights, and the first costumes hinted that something very special was about to happen. Numerous fans of the macabre answered the school’s call again this year to venture out and admire the Halloween decorations.
The weather was perfect: With mild temperatures and clear skies, the atmosphere was almost eerily idyllic – an ideal setting for goosebumps and good cheer at the same time. Right at the entrance, guests were greeted by a spiderweb-covered corridor, accompanied by creepy projections on the building, clock tower, and garage. This year, something completely different awaited them in the corridor: the creepy dollhouse. Old, dusty dolls stared into the darkness, giving some guests an uneasy feeling.

The walk through the courtyard was accompanied by glowing shadows that flitted across the walls, while eerie voices whispered from loudspeakers. A highlight, once again, were the singing pumpkins, whose flickering lights and cheerful songs provided a humorous interlude between all the scares.

Those brave enough to venture further soon reached the walk around the house – a narrow passage filled with nets, demons, ghosts, and glowing eyes. Along the walk, the spooky garden path beckoned, where wisps of fog and dim lighting created a unique atmosphere. Between creaking trees and rustling leaves, the path eventually led into the “Labyrinth of Ghosts and Spiders.” Suddenly appearing figures and eerie noises made the journey through the labyrinth a truly special experience. And amidst all the garden decorations, the scare actors provided a welcome change of pace, and the occasional startled shriek could be heard echoing throughout the garden.

Those who made it to the witch’s kitchen could catch their breath – almost. Amidst old books, glowing cauldrons, and mysterious ingredients, the air was filled with the ebb and flow of steam. Visitors could admire all sorts of “magic potions” and “magical recipes,” lovingly crafted with meticulous attention to detail.
At the end of the tour, a sweet reward awaited the young guests: 220 bags full of sweets were distributed to the bravest children. With shining eyes, full bags, and many stories to share, the visitors finally headed home – not without the firm intention of returning next year.
A heartfelt thank you goes to all the hard-working helpers who contributed so much to the setup, design, and execution of this unforgettable evening. A big thank you also goes to the Quohrener Lebel e.V. association, which provided food and drink for the guests, ensuring that no one left hungry.

So the Night of Terror in Quohren will once again be remembered fondly – a festival full of imagination, community, and of course: just the right amount of spookiness.
